Mary worked as a nurse back in 1997 when Good Counsel began. We didn't know it at first, but she broke the rules to put us in touch with an expectant mum who kept leaving in tears when she came for her abortion appointments at the hospital Mary worked at.
Mary never met the woman but she heard from her colleagues about her, and when she heard how she had turned away from abortion 3 times.
Without giving us too much information, Mary passed on the young womans details to us. When we reached out to her, the young woman accepted our help and kept her baby.
Her baby is grown up now and recently graduated as a doctor.
The story doesn't end there though. As Mary lay dying we were able to finally connect her with the young expectant mum who she had helped.
A couple of weeks ago this lady, "Jennifer", went to visit Mary in the same hospital where they first crossed paths (without actually meeting the first time). She brought flowers and thanked Mary, told her about her daughter and brought photos.
Mary died last week. Its such a blessing to have seen this beautiful story unfold. Please pray for the repose of Mary's soul.
