What to do about the Buffer Zone

In case you haven't seen the widespread media coverage, Ealing Council has set up a buffer zone outside the Marie Stopes abortion centre which will come into force on Monday 23rd April, the Feast of St George.
The scope of activity this buffer zone will ban is very broad, the PSPO (Public Space Protection Order) document itself says:

" The Activities prohibited by the Order are:

i                      Protesting, namely engaging in any act of approval/disapproval or attempted act of approval/disapproval, with respect to issues related to abortion services, by any means. This includes but is not limited to  graphic, verbal or written means, prayer or counselling,
ii                    Interfering, or attempting to interfere, whether verbally or physically, with a service user or member of staff,
iii                   Intimidating or harassing, or attempting to intimidate or harass, a service user or a member of staff,
iv                   Recording or photographing a service user or member of staff of the Clinic whilst they are in the Safe Zone,
v                    Displaying any text or images relating directly or indirectly to the termination of pregnancy, or
vi                   Playing or using amplified music, voice or audio recordings.  "
Obviously some of these points will make no difference to us (specifically iii, iv and vi) as we never did these things anyway, but now anything we do to offer alternatives or help to women who choose to keep their babies is deemed to be "disapproving of abortion". Of course it is no secret that we don't agree with abortion, but the act of offering alternatives is not in itself an act of disapproval, but an act of offering help to those who wish to avoid an abortion.
Any attempt to offer women a leaflet has now become "Interfering with" service users.
And our poster offering practical help and support is now deemed to be "text relating to the termination of pregnancy".

Ealing Council will allow a maximum of 4 people to stand 100 metres away (some say 150 metres away) on a small green verge which feels to be so far away from the abortion centre that it would be miraculous if any Marie Stopes user noticed our existence. In that space we have limited rights to pray, offer leaflets and display a poster (poster sizes are limited). But if we step off the verge, we would be in breach of the PSPO.

No doubt there will be some local anti-vigil campaigners overcome with glee to see this come into effect.

Meanwhile we have been contacted by one or two people offering to break the PSPO.

We are asking people NOT TO break the PSPO. Here are the reasons why:

We can see that the PSPO is a complete misuse and abuse of laws intended to control anti-social behaviour, not intended to crush charitable outreach, prayer and public acts of witness. We want to see this fought in a legal and law abiding manner. This is about the right of those women who want our support to be able to access it at the point of need, not about any one of us becoming a hero, or being branded a criminal. We want to fight it in a way that demonstrates that. We are law-abiding citizens and we want to fight for our rights and the rights of Mothers who want our help, lawfully.

Furthermore there is no evidence of anyone breaking the law at Ealing or indeed at any of the vigils around the UK. We want to keep it this way. It speaks volumes about who we are and what we are doing that our movement is law-abiding.

The world recognises that movements sometimes need to break the law to protect civil liberties in the face of unjust law. No-one questions the fact that some of the great civil rights leaders of recent history broke laws to defend basic human rights. However, it is prudent and right to employ every legal course of action open to you. And we believe and expect that the legal means of fighting this buffer zone will be successful.

What can you do to help?

  • Firstly, prayer. There has been a continual stream of attacks on our Counsellors since the "anti-vigil" group started coming and spreading lies about what we do. But this has increased in intensity and frequency recently and our staff and volunteers have been the subject of vitriol and physical assault on a daily basis since the 10th April meeting when Ealing Council approved the buffer zone. They are on the frontline and we need to pray for them and of course even more so for the Mothers entering Marie Stopes.
  • Secondly, instead of offers of breaking the PSPO we need people to commit to regular hours at the vigil. Do you think we should abandon these women? Even if we cannot be outside Marie Stopes, we intend to keep up the symbollic action of being present as closely as we can (legally in the designated area). If you agree that we shouldn't abandon them, please commit to offering some hours of prayer at our vigil. You need to be in contact with our centre to arrange this via info@goodcounselnetwork.co.uk - because we can only have a total number of 4 people on the designated area so please let us know if you plan to come - but please DO come.
  • When you come, please abide by the rules of the PSPO and comply with what the vigil leader asks you to do, and please DO NOT bring posters of any kind. We are only allowed posters of a certain size (and an overall size of all the posters in the designated area is also specified) and we already have them.
  • If you can't come, please offer some time in prayer and/or offer a fast or some sacrifice for the women entering Marie Stopes, for the vigil and for the end of abortion.
  • We provide tens of thousands of pounds worth of support every year to women in difficult pregnancies. Please consider making a donation to help towards this see www.GoodCounselNet.co.uk/Donate
  • Write to your MP about buffer zones - the next stage of this battle will be the Government trying to legislate nationally for buffer zones. We will be giving you more information about the points to make on this shortly.
  • Attend the March for life in London on Saturday 5th May in London. This is a great act of pro-life witness and a wonderful, uplifting event where we can all learn about the fight to defend the unborn and about the buffer zone and what needs to be done to overturn it. Details available at www.marchforlife.co.uk

We hope you will be patient over the next few days as we respond carefully to the Buffer Zone, but whatever you think, do not think that nothing is happening, or that we plan to sit back and accept what has been done to prevent women in need accessing alternatives to abortion.

Help Save Lives! - Act Today and Oppose Buffer Zones.

ACT TODAY – Even if you have already filled in a Survey about this, please email those running the consultations on Buffer Zones outside abortion centres, and ask others to do so too. Please share.

On 17 January 2018, the Home Secretary launched a National public consultation about vigils outside abortion facilities. The deadline for submissions is Monday 19 February 2018.
2 Councils - Lambeth and Ealing are also running consultations to bring in a Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) or Buffer Zone. Their respective deadlines are February 28th and March 26th. Buffer Zones will prevent the most vulnerable women from finding alternatives to abortion.

Opponents of Vigils claim that pro-lifers harass and intimidate women at abortion centres, but pro-lifers actually offer alternatives to women who frequently have no other choice.

How to make your voice heard against Buffer Zones

·         It is essential that as many pro-life/pro-free speech voices as possible are heard as part of the consultation.
Pass this email onto as many pro-life contacts as possible, including parish priests asking them to include it in their bulletins/parish news.

·        These consultations are designed to gather evidence against the Vigils and are worded as such. It is better to email the Home Office and the 2 Councils as the attached briefing suggests.

Please reply to National Consultation proposed by Amber Rudd before 19th February.

By email at ACPReview@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk
You can also post a response (but it needs to be sent 1st class asap) to:
Abortion Clinic Protest Review Team, Police Powers Unit, Home Office,
2 Marsham Street, London SW1P 4DF
(This is the link to the online survey, but it is better to email. http://bit.ly/2Bsqm4q
The government introduction to the consultation can be found here:

Reply to Lambeth Council’s Consultation before 28th February

By post to: Lambeth PSPO, 6th Floor, International House, Canterbury Crescent, London, SW9 7QE or by email here Engagement@lambeth.gov.uk
(Find out more about the plans for a Buffer Zone in Lambeth here https://www.lambeth.gov.uk/consultations/have-your-say-on-a-public-space-protection-order-pspo-for-sexual-health-and

Reply to Ealing Council’s Consultation before 26th March

By post to: Ealing PSPO, The Safer Communities Team, Ealing Council, Perceval House, 14-16 Uxbridge Road, London W5 2HL or by email here SaferCommunities@ealing.gov.uk (it is better to email than to fill in the online survey, but more information about the plans for a Buffer Zone can be found on the survey site here https://www.ealing.gov.uk/safezone )

Also, whether or not your Council has proposed a PSPO or Buffer Zone as yet, write to your local MPs and Councillors asking them to speak and vote against moves to limit or prevent pro-lifers offering women alternatives to abortion. Find out more about Buffer Zones at www.goodcounselnetwork.com

Pro-Abortion Buffer Zones Hypocrisy

Rupa Huq MP for Ealing Central and Acton is at the forefront of the campaign to introduce ‘Buffer Zones’ around abortion centres in the UK. This is a move primarily aimed at stopping groups like the Good Counsel Network (www.goodcounsetnet.com), the Helpers of God’s Precious Infants and 40 Days for Life, standing outside abortion centres to offer women going in real, practical help and support if they would like to continue their pregnancy. You can see short interviews with women who have been helped to avoid what would in effect have been forced abortion, on the Good Counsel Network website.

Rupa has said a number of times on National Television, that if you want to change the law, go and protest it outside parliament etc. You should never protest outside an abortion centre to change the law.

This photo is of Rupa protesting outside the Ealing abortion centre with Sister Supporter.

The Vigils are not held outside abortion centres to change the law; they are there to offer help and alternatives to abortion.

Rupa and the pro-aborts of SS and Aston University claim that it is “Just about moving Pro-Life demonstrations away from abortion centres and not stopping Pro-Life demonstrations altogether”. But then again on National Television, Rupa complained that another Pro-Life group, Abort67, had held a display at her office. This group does campaign to change the law on abortion, But Rupa thinks that they should not lobby the Constituency Office of an MP, who will not meet with her Constituents to discuss ‘Buffer Zones’, unless they support her views!

We then move to Parliament, where Rupa claims that the medical information used by Good Counsel has been meticulously fact- checked and found to be false. She only gave one example, which was to claim that a photo of a foetus at 20 weeks with fingernails was wrong as babies at 20 weeks don’t have fingernails! The NHS website states that babies have fingernails from 11 weeks.

After the debate, Rupa was photographed with Ealing Counsellors, MPs and members of SS. You may not recognise the woman from SS above Rupa’s head, but here she is in another photo. She had travelled all the way to Birmingham to break through the security barrier to try and disrupt the speakers at the March for Life.

So let us be honest, Rupa et al, this is not just about forcing women to abort by removing offers of help from outside abortion centres. It is about silencing anyone who does not support your worldview.

Saints Francesco and Jacinta Visit London Abortion Centres and Planned Parenthood

Our Lady of Fatima last appeared to the three young Shepherd Children on the 13th October 1917. On that day, tens of thousands saw the Miracle of the Sun, when the sun danced in the sky.

As the hundredth anniversary of this apparition approached, Siobhán of the Good Counsel Network started 40 days of abstinence and prayer for the abortion centre in Ealing to close down and for the relics of Saints Francesco and Jacinta to visit there, before the 13th October 2017.

Just days before the anniversary we received permission, out of the blue, to have the relics for this purpose and so we were able to take them, with the assistance of Fr Stephen Boyle and Fr Behruz Raf’at to the abortion centres in Twickenham, Whitfield St and Ealing. We were also able to take them to the Headquarters of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF).

We even had time to stop at Good Counsel’s Chapel where staff and volunteers were able to venerate them before we returned them that evening.

Please come and join us at our three daily peaceful, prayerful Pro-Life vigils and please donate to help us to continue, through God's Grace to save hundreds of babies from abortion. See our website to watch interviews with some of the Mums and Families that we have helped.

The Guardian's Shameful Abortion Centre Photo

For years we have had listen to lies from the media, politicians and abortion providers claiming that Pro-Lifers film clients going into abortion centres. Just last month we had staff from the abortion centre in Ealing on National Radio and the local MP, claiming that we live-stream from outside abortion centres. The Guardian have repeated all those claims time and time again. Yet no images of women entering or leaving abortion centres which have been taken by pro-lifers have ever appeared on social media or in the public domain. This is because pro-lifers DON'T photograph or film women entering abortion centres. We are there to offer help to pregnant Mums, it is unlikely that the hundreds of women that stop to talk to us would do so if we were filming.

Then on Sunday 26th November, the Guardian, who claim to be supporting women, published a photo of two women leaving the abortion centre in Ealing. [We have distorted the image above]. A 'pro-choice feminist' group calling itself Sister Supporter have also put up an image of another women attending this abortion centre.

So once again it is clear that the Pro-Lifers are there to help and respect women and the abortion campaigners are not. Please contact The Guardian and ask them to remove or distort the photo and ask them to never take or publish photos of women entering or leaving abortion centres again.

Please come to our vigils to pray and donate to help us support those women who choose life for their children.

Go to our website to see some videos with Mothers that we have been able to help.

Amber Rudd is Welcome to Investigate Our Pro-Life Vigils

The Good Counsel Network welcomes the Home Secretary Amber Rudd's investigation into what happens outside abortion centres. We are proud of our peaceful, prayerful vigils which help hundreds of women to choose life every year. Come and see what we do. And most importantly MS Rudd, come and meet the women we serve. Here, one of them "Isabel" describes what happened when she met Good Counsel outside an abortion centre.

Good Counsel Writes to Amber Rudd on Buffer Zones

Clare McCullough, Director of The Good Counsel Network has written to the Home Secretary, Amber Rudd in response to the letter she received from Rupa Huq and colleagues about Buffer Zones. You can help hundreds of Mothers to have an alternative to abortion, volunteer to join the Intern Programme . Come to our vigils here and support our work and the Mothers we support here.

15th November 2017

Dear Ms Rudd

I am writing to you in response to the letter of Ms Rupa Huq MP, requesting the implementation of buffer zones outside abortion centres, which was signed by 112 other MPs.

Firstly, I want to say that as the Director of The Good Counsel Network, which is lawfully present outside the Marie Stopes abortion centre in Ealing, we offer each woman entering the abortion centre a leaflet detailing help, support and alternatives to abortion. Hundreds of women have taken up this help and support which has enabled them to choose life for their children. Secondly, a small witness against abortion is held, several yards away from the entrance to the abortion centre. This usually consists of one or two people, occasionally as many as five, standing away from the abortion centre and praying quietly.

In response to the many false and unevidenced allegations made by Ms Huq and her colleagues, I would like to state categorically that no-one attending our vigils calls women seeking abortion “murderers”.  Nor do we follow them. If these things were occurring at our vigils, which happen every day, there would be ample opportunity to provide proof of it. There is none.

The Good Counsel Network staff and volunteers do not have any graphic pictures of abortion on display whatsoever outside the abortion centre. We show several A4 sized images of the developing baby, which are accurate representations of babies in the womb at different stages. We do not display inaccurate pictures nor do we give women inaccurate medical information. The Good Counsel Network is the main group present at Mattock Lane in Ealing and we are there for about 38 hours per week.

During the many years we have been present outside Marie Stopes Ealing we have frequently met women entering who have stopped to speak to us precisely because they were unsure of their decision, felt under pressure to abort and often had no alternatives to abortion. Some women feel they have to abort to avoid homelessness, abuse, desertion and so on. These women include illegal immigrants, foreign students, trafficked women and a variety of UK residents who had other pressures on them that were not easy to address. Marie Stopes has no alternatives to offer these women.

On one occasion we had to call the police to assist a woman who was phoning us from inside the abortion centre because she did not want to abort, but also did not want to hurt those who had accompanied her. The police had to intervene before this woman managed to escape from the centre via a fire exit. She then took a taxi to our office, where we were able to give her the support she wanted. At no point did the abortion centre staff note that she did not want to go ahead with the abortion.

Miss Huq has repeatedly refused to meet with the many women who have changed their mind about their abortion because we have offered them help and support outside an abortion centre. Yet she and her colleagues feel competent to deny women that opportunity.  Ms Huq and those who co-signed her letter claim to speak on behalf of women, and to “trust women”, but this “trust” does not seem to apply to those women who seek and accept our help, and who, we are repeatedly told, are “not relevant” to this debate.

Marie Stopes International have been found wanting in their assessment of vulnerable women seeking abortion, for whom the proper procedures for obtaining consent and being sure of their personal freedom in choosing abortion, is particularly crucial. In fact, Marie Stopes agreed to suspend any surgical terminations for 10 weeks in 2016, and were prevented from seeing any young or vulnerable women during this period because of these findings. [i]

The CEO of British Pregnancy Advisory Service (BPAS), Ann Furedi, stated recently that 15% of women change their mind at BPAS centres every year[ii]. This makes it quite clear that many women have not made up their minds to abort when they arrive at an abortion centre. Countrywide 15% of women entering abortion centres who have doubts equals tens of thousands of women who, if buffer zones are implemented, will not be offered any alternative by abortion centres. Women who are uncertain about going through with an abortion have a right to be provided with alternative support in a peaceful manner.

Our peaceful outreach to women entering abortion facilities is the simple action of offering them a leaflet, which they may choose to accept or not. I ask you to witness the peaceful work of The Good Counsel Network and not to legislate against this activity which has allowed hundreds of women to make a choice to keep their baby which would have been impossible for them otherwise.

Yours sincerely
Clare McCullough

Director, The Good Counsel Network

Amended!!! 2,674 reasons why BPAS and Marie Stopes need Buffer Zones

1,336 2,257 less abortions
in Ealing and Twickenham Abortion Centres
during 2016 than in 2015.
+ abortions in Birmingham have
dropped by 417.

It's embarrassing! I put this post up on Tuesday morning as "1,336 reasons why BPAS and Marie Stopes need Buffer Zones" stating that abortions at Ealing Marie Stopes and Twickenham BPAS had dropped by 1,336 in total between 2015 and 2016.
Turns out I was so wrong!!!
Then March for Life added on the 417 drop in abortions in the Birmingham area from 2012
figures to 2016 figures.
Then, Justyna, pro-lifer extraordinaire and manager of the Twickenham vigil pointed out that actually my figures were up the creek since I had only included NHS abortions and not the private abortions done in these centres.
I looked again at the figures and found them as below. Making a total reduction of 2,674 abortions, just from these 3 abortion centres.
So the news is even better!
And it's still true to say:
Wherever there is a full time prayerful presence at an abortion centre, with real help available, abortion figures drop.
This is why abortion providers like Marie Stopes and BPAS want buffer zones

According to department of health statistics,

Marie Stopes Ealing performed 7,459 of abortions in 2015
Marie Stopes Ealing performed 6,484 abortions in 2016
That's a drop of 13%

BPAS Twickenham performed 7,325 abortions in 2015
BPAS Twickenham performed 6043 abortions 2016.
That's a drop of 17.5%

Every life is infinitely precious. Don't let them make us back off! Allow women real options!

Come to our vigils here. Donate to help the Mothers and babies we serve here.

She Holds My Heart - Mother thanks YOU for helping her keep her child.

As the plan to decriminalise abortion in any place and at any gestation rumbles on, the one voice that remains unheard is the voice of those who had no choice at all when they "chose" abortion. UK citizens with rights to housing and benefits, or those on comfortable incomes, frequently seem unaware that there are many women for whom abortion is not a choice at all, but the only way out of homelessness, destitution, family breakdown or violence. We don't believe that a woman should have to "choose" abortion in these situations, but rather that we should help her out of the situation, enabling her to make a real heartfelt choice about her child.
'Anna' was in a difficult situation when she found out she was pregnant. Listen to her testimony and find out EXACTLY what Good Counsel does.

To help us support Mothers like Anna, you can donate here . See here for details of how to join us in a prayerful, peaceful vigil at abortion centres in London

113 MPs Demand Laws Which Will Increase Abortions

As one of several moves by Members of Parliament to increase the numbers of abortions in the UK, 113 MPs have asked the Home Secretary, Amber Rudd, to intervene to stop pro-life vigils outside abortion centres.
These MPs in their wisdom, have not made any effort to meet with those women who have chosen life for their babies. They don't know who these women are, they don't care who these women are, or what pressures they face and why they are often very willing to choose life when offered support.
Here is Anna, one of the Mothers we have supported, who changed her mind at an abortion centre talking about the help she received.

And why she thinks help should be offered outside an abortion centre.

If the plans of those 113 MPs were already in place at that time Anna went for her abortion, her child would be dead.
Donate here to help us support Mothers in need. Come and pray at our vigils.

Telling Truths About Pro-Life Vigils

Clare McCullough, founder of the Good Counsel Network, spoke about our work outside abortion centres (in light of Ealing Council's decision to try to ban vigils) on the Emma Barnett radio show on the 11th October 2017.
Note how the host politely asked John from Marie Stopes what pro-lifers attending the vigils do. John went on to claim that people at the vigils, amongst other things, are calling women murderers and physically blocking their access to the clinic. Emma accepts this as being the truth and goes on to say 'Have you seen women coming in to the centre in distress?' To which John replies, 'Yes', and gives more, unsubstantiated allegations, which Emma is quite happy to accept.
Emma then speaks to Clare, and from the start takes up a hostile pro abortion stance, constantly interrupting her, and putting all of the allegations to her as if they were fact. When Clare points out that we never film outside the clinics Emma suggests that evidence to the contrary may emerge, not that she has seen such evidence you understand, and not once did she ask John from the abortion clinic to produce any evidence for his wild accusations. Listen in to see how it went from there.
The Good Counsel Network runs three daily, peaceful prayer vigils outside London abortion centres, in Ealing, Twickenham, and central London. You are welcome to come and join us there in prayer,  (you’re also welcome to come and see the vigils for yourself to see whether John’s accusations are in fact true).
Clare enjoyed her sparring match with Emma, though she was extremely grateful for all those who signed up to pray for her! Media outlets, constantly refuse to speak to women who have been helped by the Good Counsel Network. You can donate to support these mums and their children here. However, at the end of the radio interview, Emma Barnet agreed to  speak to some of the mothers we have helped about our vigils and the ongoing help we provide. You can hear her fulfil this promise (to speak to one mum who turned around, at least) tomorrow morning on Radio 5 Live's "5 Live Daily" (starts 10am) to mark the 50th Anniversary of the Abortion Act. Let's hope she gives her a fair hearing.

Fearless Mum Takes on the "Experts" on Abortion Centre Vigils!

One of the Mothers we have been privileged to serve speaks here about the importance of offering help outside an abortion centre. The other women on the panel claim to speak for women entering the abortion centre, but only Alina speaks about her own actual experience of receiving, and later offering to other women, pregnancy support outside an abortion centre.

Please support our daily peaceful prayer vigils and donate to help us to continue to help those Mothers who are offered nothing except abortion by the other side.

Evidence of Harassment by Pro-Lifers is Non-Existant

We have had little time to fundraise or do so many other urgent things over the last 2 weeks, with constant media interest in our work following Ealing Council's decision to try to ban our peaceful pro-life vigil. Please help us with your prayers and by donating to support our work if you can.

The 50th Anniversary of the Abortion Act is approaching on Friday 27th October, and there is still time to have Mass offered for the end of abortion and in reparation for 50 years of legal abortion, as many of our supporters have already done. (If it can't be said on the date just have it said as soon as you can).

Here is another of Clare's recent media appearances defending peaceful vigils outside abortion centres. Please do consider coming to pray at our vigils, where hundreds of babies have been saved.

A Ban on Pro-Life Help in Ealing?

On Tuesday 10th October, Ealing Council voted in favour of a motion to do all in their legal means to end the peaceful, pro-life vigil outside Marie Stopes Ealing, which has been there for 23 years. This was in response to a petition by a local group Sister Supporter (SS) who have been protesting our vigils for the last 18 months.
If you want a quick reminder of who Sister Supporter are, this would be them in pink, harassing one of our Counsellors and filming the abortion centre entrance. The Good Counsel Network has been holding a daily vigil at Ealing since 2013, but the Helpers and a variety of other groups, have been holding regular vigils there for the last 23 years and more. There has never been a single arrest or charge raised against any of these groups because they do not attend the vigil to harass but to offer women help and to pray. To attend our vigils see details here.

None of Sister Supporter's "evidence" has been shown to the Good Counsel Network to this date, despite Rupa Huq MP offering to forward it on. Nor has a single Councillor contacted Good Counsel, or responded to our request that they speak to some of the Mothers who have sought our help outside Marie Stopes.

Rebutting claims made that pro-lifers harass women, Good Counsel's Director, Clare McCullough has been speaking about the work we do and what really happens at Ealing. Note how those speaking against her continually make unsubstantiated accusations and refuse to provide any evidence from the constantly present cctv cameras at the Marie Stopes Centre.
To provide support and help for the Mothers who are glad we are outside the centres offering help, and who choose life please donate here.

"Pro-Choice Feminists" Harass Pregnant Mums and Counsellors

Please share this picture far and wide, Sister Supporter the 'pro-choice, feminists' turned up at Ealing abortion centre today to film and record women entering Marie Stopes as our Counsellors speak to them. Here is one of their male 'feminists' filming a woman who has just entered, who our Counsellor to the left of the gate was speaking to. Do you think filming women entering Marie Stopes is OK? Do you think recording them speaking or choosing not to speak to a Counsellor is OK? This is what Rupa Huq the local MP has encouraged by supporting Sister Supporter protests.

And now Sister Supporter are standing in the street screaming that our Counsellors are filming women going in because we took photos of them filming women going in. God help us, I salute the two incredibly Christlike Counsellors there this morning.

There's Just One Thing Wrong With The March For Life & We Can't Just Ignore It

There's no denying that the organisers of the March for Life UK have worked incredibly hard to develop the March for Life into a professionally run and inspiring event. This year as usual there are some speakers of a certain calibre, Lila Rose of Live Action for instance, and 3 UK Bishops will be attending, which is quite an achievement in itself. However, there is something seriously wrong with the March, and it needs to be addressed now, rather than some years down the line.

This event is far too good to be attended by a couple of thousand people!

Only you can address this problem. Please come yourself and invite your friends, and even the luke-warm pro-lifers, this will warm them up for sure!

50 years on from the abortion act being passed here, and 8.7 million lives - about the size of the current population of London, if not this year, when will you come?

Follow this link to our website and find the links for London coaches from Westminster, Ealing, Upton Park, and Clapham South as well as coaches from across the UK. See you there!

The Women Who Have Been Silenced Speak Out

Hear from the people who really count, the Mothers who changed their minds at abortion centres because they were offered help by pro-lifers outside. As BPAS intensify their campaign to keep business booming, hear the truth from the women the media and the abortion industry want to keep silent.

Pro-Abortion Media Storm; A Response

Today the Mail on Sunday have published an inflammatory article attacking the outreach to women outside abortion centres which Good Counsel and other groups are involved in.

This will be the launch of a spectacular media campaign, inspired (orchestrated?) by BPAS to encourage MPs to back a new buffer zone bill (the aim of BPAS’ #Backoff business initiative to prevent women backing out of abortion when they are offered help by pro-lifers). Last year a small number of MPs backed efforts to bring in “Buffer Zones” round abortion centres.

So, backed by the most biased research team ever (Dr Pam Lowe, darling of Abortion Rights and Dr Graeme Hayes of Aston University) BPAS will now re-launch this campaign with the help of Keir Starmer, MP.
Dr Pam Lowe of Aston University speaking to Paul Tully of SPUC and Clare McCullough at the March for Life in May. Despite agreeing to do so, Dr Lowe and her colleague Dr Graeme Hayes have repeatedly neglected to respond to our invitation to speak to women who accepted help  from us outside abortion centres. Yet her research on Pro-life Vigils is used to promote the Buffer Zone movement

To help them do this, their favourite media chums (Channel 4, The Guardian and now the Mail on Sunday) have left no stone unturned.

Since February 2016, Good Counsel, 40 Days for Life and Abort 67 have had a selection of undercover ‘journalists’ on their tails. These ‘journalists’ have made a series of spectacular new discoveries:

  • Good Counsel mentions that there are many studies showing an increased risk of breast cancer following abortion, while acknowledging that the medical establishment does not accept there is a proven link. (First reported 1998)
  • Abort 67 displays graphic images at abortion sites. (Acknowledged all over their website and known by everybody who has ever read an article on pro-life witnesses).

And Shockingly

  • 40 Days for Life was an idea that first came from – wait for it – AMERICA!

Yes. I am afraid it’s all true.

What is not true however is that we harass, shout at, follow or film women going to abortion centres. This is one lie that has been repeated so often it is now “fact” to the general public.

Unfortunately the Mail on Sunday and the Channel 4 Dispatches Programme (this Wednesday, 5th October 11pm) as well as Aston University’s Research team refused to accept our offer to speak to any number of the 100’s of Mothers who have chosen life after accepting Good Counsel’s help outside an abortion centre; the very women who could tell them everything about what we do and don’t do, if they really wanted to know.

Please read and watch these and other reports on pro-life witnesses at abortion centres over the next few days and write in demanding that these women get their chance to speak.

There will be many important updates on this story from Good Counsel, so follow us on Facebook and on Twitter  Send us an email asking to receive updates

Beautiful Pro-Life Videos and Your MP

The idea of their buffer zones is to stop pro-lifers offering help to pregnant women outside abortion 'clinics'. Whilst no doubt some of the people supporting the idea of buffer zones may be well meaning, we can be sure they know very little about what actually takes place at our vigils. The idea that the two pro-lifers in the photo above, praying opposite Whitfield Street abortion centre in London, are there to intimidate anybody, is, of course, preposterous.

Please watch the following video, of one young mother who desperately needed help to keep her children, and was able to receive that assistance, because there were no buffer zones; https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCCw-CqRb1UIuD8-me5XQXxg

Please then contact your MP and ask them not to support moves to hinder caring, pro-life vigils. You may, of course, send them the link to the video to back up your arguments. You can find your MP's contact details here: http://www.parliament.uk/get-involved/contact-your-mp/

Then please do see SPUC's video of another mother helped by Good Counsel, and sign their petition;

Then please invite all of your friends and family to this 'event' on Facebook; https://www.facebook.com/events/1519476211704176/. All of this should take you less than 15 minutes.
